AI & Data

Intelligent document processing (IDP 2.0)

Invoices, statements and KYC files read, checked and posted to your ERP without retyping

Back offices still retype what arrives as documents

Invoices, bank statements, trade-finance papers and KYC files arrive as PDFs, scans and photos. Teams read them, retype the data and chase the exceptions by email.

The work is slow, errors reach the ledger and every surge in volume needs more people. Older OCR tools read the text but not the meaning, so the checking stays manual.

What you get

  1. Documents processed on arrival

Documents processed as they arrive, not when someone has time to retype them.

  2. Checked before posting

Data checked against your rules and records before it reaches the ledger.

  3. People on the exceptions only

People see only the documents that need judgement, with the reason each one was held.

  4. A complete audit trail

A full trail from each posted record back to the document and the person who approved it.

What we deliver

  • Multimodal extraction

Data read from invoices, bank statements, trade-finance documents, KYC files and complex forms, whether typed, scanned or photographed, in more than one language.

  • Validation rules and exception handling

Automated checks against your rules, suppliers, purchase orders and records. Agents resolve routine exceptions and route the rest to the right person.

  • Human review and direct ERP posting

A review screen for human-in-the-loop (HITL) or human-on-the-loop (HOTL) checks, then posting straight to your ERP ledger.

How it works

  1. Map the process

We follow the documents from arrival to posting, and measure where time and errors go.

  2. Collect real samples

We gather real documents in all their layouts and languages, and agree the fields and rules that matter.

  3. Build extraction and checks

We build the extraction, the validation rules and the review screen, and measure accuracy on documents the system has not seen.

  4. Connect to the ERP

We post approved data to your ERP through its supported interfaces, and test the postings in a sandbox first.

  5. Release and tune

We release document type by document type, with people reviewing everything at first and less as accuracy is proven.

Technologies and standards

IDP 2.0 combines multimodal extraction with automated validation rules, autonomous exception handling and HITL or HOTL review, then posts directly to the ERP ledger.

How to start

Clients usually start with one document type that has high volume and a clear cost, such as supplier invoices or KYC onboarding files.

What happens next

  1. Agreeing a time

Our team emails you to agree a time for the session.

  2. Pre-consulting session

A free 30-minute online pre-consulting session: we go through your goals, systems and constraints.

  3. Readiness review

In a free 48-hour readiness review, a Principal Architect checks your project against the 6-point Definition of Ready and recommends the track that fits.

  4. Choosing the track

Scope-ready projects receive a binding proposal within 3–5 business days. Concept-stage projects start in the Blueprint Studio. A live system that is failing, undocumented or needs integration starts with a diagnostic of 1–2 weeks. The Blueprint Studio and the diagnostic each have a fixed fee, quoted in the proposal.

Questions and answers

What is intelligent document processing (IDP 2.0)?

It reads documents the way a person would: the text, the layout and the meaning. IDP 2.0 adds AI that checks the data against your rules, resolves routine exceptions and posts the result to your systems.

Which documents can you process?

Invoices, bank statements, trade-finance documents, KYC files and complex forms, whether typed, scanned or photographed. We test on your own samples, in all the layouts and languages you receive.

What if the extraction is wrong?

Validation rules catch most errors before posting, by checking totals, suppliers, orders and records. Anything uncertain is held for a person, with the reason shown. Corrections feed back into the system so it improves.

Is this the same as robotic process automation?

No. Robotic process automation repeats clicks on screens and breaks when a layout changes. IDP understands the document itself, and posts through your ERP’s interfaces rather than its screens.

Which ERP systems can you post to?

We post through the supported interfaces of the ERPs our integration division works with, including SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Odoo. Postings are tested in a sandbox before they reach your live ledger.

How are our documents and data protected?

Documents can be processed inside your own environment, so they never leave it. Access is limited by role and logged, and KYC and personal data follow your retention rules.

Who owns the system you build?

You do. The code, rules, review screens and any models we train for you are yours once each milestone is paid.
