Energy and utilities
Grid and asset data your teams can act on, on OT networks defended around the clock.
Why energy and utility data is hard to use and hard to defend
Energy and utility companies run physical assets that cannot stop, on control systems built for reliability, not for today's threats. Data sits in separate operational and business systems. Regulators and investors now ask for security evidence and ESG figures that are hard to produce.
Control systems under threat
OT and SCADA networks built for reliability now face attacks they were never designed for.
Data split between OT and IT
Grid, plant and business data sit in separate systems with separate owners.
Evidence on demand
Regulators and investors ask for security evidence and ESG figures that must stand up to audit.
What changes
What changes when the systems are connected and secured: grid and asset data that teams can act on, maintenance planned from evidence instead of the calendar, OT networks defended around the clock, and ESG reports built from measured data.
Data teams can act on
Grid and asset data in one platform, with quality and lineage checked.
Maintenance planned from evidence
Models flag equipment before it fails, so work is planned instead of rushed.
OT defended continuously
One security operations view across OT and IT, with tested recovery.
ESG figures you can defend
Every reported figure traceable to the data it came from.
Where we work
What we build
- Real-time pipelines that ingest meter, sensor and grid events with Apache Kafka and Flink
- Forecasting and demand-sensing models
- Command-centre dashboards for operators
What we build
- Security for industrial OT, SCADA and smart-grid IoT
- A converged SOC and NOC with threat hunting and automated response (SOAR)
- Ransomware resilience with immutable clean-room recovery and incident response retainers
Typical integrations
- OT and IT monitoring sources, brought into one security operations view
What we build
- Predictive models that flag equipment before it fails
- Industrial digital twins for planning, simulation and training
- Edge computer vision for inspection
What we build
- Data pipelines that collect ESG data with lineage back to its source
- Automated operational and executive reporting
- Carbon-aware compute optimisation (GreenOps) for the company's own cloud workloads
Typical integrations
- Business intelligence tools, including conversational BI
What we build, connect and secure
Real-time data platforms
Event streaming and lakehouses that bring operational and business data together, with data quality and lineage.
Forecasting and optimisation
Predictive models for demand, supply and asset condition, with explanations engineers can check.
Industrial digital twins
Real-time 3D simulations of plants and networks, built with Unity, Unreal Engine or NVIDIA Omniverse.
OT and SCADA security
Defence for industrial control systems, from network segmentation to monitoring and response.
Command centres and reporting
Executive dashboards and automated operational reporting, from the same data the operators use.
OT and control systems
SCADA and plant systems read through secured, monitored paths that never put operations at risk.
ERP and asset management
Work orders, spare parts and costs kept in step with SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Odoo.
Edge and IoT
Sensor and device data processed close to the asset, with only what is needed sent onwards.
Sovereign and hybrid cloud
Workloads placed in regional sovereign clouds, on premises or at the edge, as your regulators require.
Cyber-resilience rules
Architecture and audits for the rules critical operators work under, such as EU NIS2, the Cyber Resilience Act and Saudi NCA ECC.
Zero trust for operations
Zero-trust network access and micro-segmentation, so remote access and IT incidents cannot reach control systems.
Long-lived data
Infrastructure data must stay secret for decades. We assess it against harvest-now-decrypt-later attacks and plan its move to NIST post-quantum cryptography.
ESG evidence
Every reported figure traceable to its source data, so auditors can check how it was produced.
How we work
We bring together the disciplines this needs: real-time data platforms and forecasting models, industrial digital twins, and cybersecurity for OT and SCADA. Our teams work alongside your engineers, and changes to operational systems follow your safety and change processes.
Assess the estate
We map the OT and IT systems, the data they hold and the paths between them.
Secure the paths first
Access and monitoring for operational systems are put in place before new data flows start.
Build and prove
Data platforms, models and twins are built in stages and proved on the assets that matter most.
Technologies and standards
The platforms and rules energy and utility work is engineered for, as the documents behind this page name them.

How to start
What happens next
Readiness review
In a free 48-hour readiness review, a Principal Architect checks your project against the 6-point Definition of Ready and recommends the track that fits.
Brownfield diagnostic
In 1–2 weeks, our principal engineers audit your code, your ERP and database schemas, your APIs and your infrastructure, and scan for leaked secrets and weak cryptography.
Rescue, refactor or rebuild
You receive a candid engineering scorecard and a Rescue, Refactor or Rebuild verdict with a fixed-price remediation proposal.
Fee credited to the rescue
100% of the diagnostic fee is credited toward the rescue or integration when XSIS carries it out. The work then runs through the same five delivery stages.
Fixed-outcome projects and round-the-clock managed services
Fixed-scope, milestone-driven delivery with named delivery leads, and round-the-clock application managed services under SLA governance.
Embedded specialists and strategic augmentation
Nearshore and on-site principal engineers and specialists, and embedded solution, transformation, PQC and integration architects.
The quickest way in is the Post-quantum (CBOM) and agent security audit package, one of our rapid engagement packages.
Questions and answers
How do you work on OT systems without risking operations?
We read data through secured, monitored paths and never change a control system outside your change and safety processes. Work on live systems is planned with your operations engineers, and every change can be rolled back.
Can you run security monitoring for our OT and IT together?
Yes. Our converged SOC and NOC watches OT and IT in one view, hunts for threats and automates the response where it is safe to do so. It runs as a managed service under agreed service levels.
What does predictive maintenance need from us?
Sensor and maintenance history for the assets in scope, and engineers who can tell us which failures matter. We start with the assets where an unplanned stop costs the most, and prove the model there before extending it.
Can you help us produce ESG reports we can defend?
We build the data pipelines behind them: data collected from operational systems, checked for quality, and traced back to its source. The report then shows how each figure was produced.
Where should a project start?
With a free readiness review led by a principal engineer. If your requirements are clear, it leads to a fixed-price proposal. If an existing system is failing or undocumented, a short diagnostic comes first.
Start with a conversation, not a contract.
Tell us what you need to build, connect or secure. An architect goes through it with you, then recommends where to start.

Agreeing a time
Our team emails you to agree a time for the session.
Pre-consulting session
A free 30-minute online pre-consulting session: we go through your goals, systems and constraints.
Readiness review
In a free 48-hour readiness review, a Principal Architect checks your project against the 6-point Definition of Ready and recommends the track that fits.
Choosing the track
Scope-ready projects receive a binding proposal within 3–5 business days. Concept-stage projects start in the Blueprint Studio. A live system that is failing, undocumented or needs integration starts with a diagnostic of 1–2 weeks. The Blueprint Studio and the diagnostic each have a fixed fee, quoted in the proposal.
