Digital services for citizens, built to be accessible and auditable

Citizen portals, case management, payments and integrations with government registries, designed to WCAG 2.2 AA.

The spiral staircase inside a city hall

Overview

Public services must work for everyone, stand up to scrutiny and keep running when demand peaks. Citizens expect to apply, pay and follow a case online, while staff need tools that make casework faster and fairer.

We build citizen portals, case management, payment services and the integrations with registries and back-office systems behind them. We design for accessibility, auditability and procurement rules from the start.

What we build

Citizen portals

Applications, permits, payments and case tracking online, designed to WCAG 2.2 AA and tested with real users.

Case management

Workflows for applications, inspections and appeals, with clear status, deadlines and a full history.

Payments and fees

Online payments, refunds and reconciliation with the treasury or finance system.

Document processing

Forms and supporting documents read, checked and routed, with staff confirming every decision.

Open data and reporting

Data platforms and dashboards for performance reporting and published open data.

Typical integrations

Government registries

Population, business, land and vehicle registries, through the interfaces each agency provides.

Digital identity

National digital identity schemes and single sign-on for citizens and staff.

Finance and ERP

Fees, refunds and grants posted to the finance system or ERP.

Payment providers

Card and bank payment providers used for fees and fines.

Engineering for the rules

Accessibility

Services are designed and tested to WCAG 2.2 AA, with plain language and support for assistive technologies.

Audit and transparency

Every decision and change in a case is recorded with who made it and why, ready for appeals, audits and information requests.

Data residency

We agree where data is hosted before work starts, including government cloud or on-premises hosting where the rules require it.

Open standards and exit

We use open standards and document every interface, so the service is not locked to one supplier, including us.

Questions and answers

How do you make services accessible?

We design to WCAG 2.2 AA from the first prototype, write in plain language, and test with keyboards, screen readers and magnification. Automated accessibility checks run in the delivery pipeline, and before major releases we test with people who use assistive technology.

Can you work within public procurement rules?

Yes. We respond to tenders and framework requirements, and we can work to fixed or staged scopes with written acceptance criteria. We provide the documentation buyers usually ask for, such as security descriptions, delivery plans and named roles, and we state only what we can evidence. Where a framework sets its own terms, we work within them.

Where will the data be hosted?

Where your rules say. We work with government or sovereign cloud regions, approved commercial clouds or your own data centres, and we design the system so that you make the hosting decision. Backups, logs and support access follow the same rule, because data often leaves a region through them rather than through the application.

Can you connect to our older systems?

Yes. Many public services depend on long-lived systems. We connect to them through their existing interfaces, files or databases, and put a modern API in front of them where that helps. If a replacement is needed, it happens in stages, with both systems running until the new one is proven.

What drives the cost of a public sector project?

The number of services and integrations, the identity and payment providers involved, the accessibility and security assessments, and the user research the service needs. We price per stage, so a discovery or a pilot can be approved on its own before the full build.
