AI and data

AI development

AI that works inside your systems, not beside them

Design, build and run AI features and agents on your data, connected to the systems you already use.

Overview

Most AI projects stall between a promising demo and a system people rely on. The gap is rarely the model. It is the data, the integration with the systems where work happens, and the checks that make the output safe to act on.

We build AI features and agents that sit inside your applications and workflows: classifying requests, drafting answers, extracting data, recommending next steps or acting through your APIs. We choose between language models, classic machine learning and plain rules for each task, and we say so when AI is not the right answer.

Every system we build is measured against an evaluation set agreed with your team before release, monitored once it runs, and designed so a person can review, correct or override what it does. You see how well it works before you depend on it.

What we deliver

  1. Use-case brief

The problem, the users, the decision the AI supports, how success is measured, and what happens when it is wrong.

  2. Data review

Which data the system needs, where it lives, its quality and access rules, and the gaps to close before building.

  3. Working prototype

A prototype on your own data, tested by real users, so you can decide whether to build further with evidence.

  4. Evaluation set and report

Test cases drawn from real work, scored automatically and by reviewers, and rerun on every change to the model or prompts.

  5. Production application

The AI feature or agent built into your product or internal tools, with its interface, APIs and audit trail.

  6. System integration

Connections to your ERP, CRM, document stores and line-of-business systems, with the permissions of the user who asked.

  7. Guardrails and human review

Input and output checks, limits on what the system may do on its own, and review queues for anything uncertain or high-risk.

  8. Monitoring and runbook

Dashboards for quality, cost and latency, alerts when they drift, and a runbook your team can operate.

How we work

  1. 01

    Frame the problem

We agree the task, the users, the measure of success and the risks with your business and technical owners.

  2. 02

    Check the data

We review the data and systems involved, and settle access, privacy and retention before anything is built.

  3. 03

    Prototype and evaluate

We build a narrow prototype on your data and score it against the evaluation set with your reviewers.

  4. 04

    Build for production

We harden the prototype: integration, security, guardrails, tests and the interface people will use.

  5. 05

    Release in stages

We release to a small group first, compare results with the current way of working, then widen access.

  6. 06

    Monitor and improve

We track quality and cost in production, add new cases to the evaluation set and retrain or retune when needed.

Questions and answers

Where should we start with AI?

Start with a task that happens often, has a clear right answer most of the time, and costs real effort today, such as classifying requests or extracting data from documents. Avoid starting with the hardest or most visible problem. We help you list candidates, score them on value, data readiness and risk, and pick one that can show results on its own. Our AI readiness assessment does this in a structured way.

What does AI development cost?

The main drivers are the state of your data, the number of systems to integrate, how accurate the system must be, and how much human review the process needs. Running costs matter too: model usage, hosting and monitoring. We estimate after a short discovery, separate build cost from running cost, and show how running cost changes with volume so there are no surprises later.

How long does it take to get an AI system into production?

A prototype on your data comes first, so you can judge results before committing to the full build. The time to production depends on data access, security reviews, the integrations involved and how much the evaluation shows needs fixing. Access to data and approvals is often the longest step. We plan these early and give you a timeline after discovery.

What happens to our data?

Your data stays in environments you approve. We prefer to run models in your own cloud account or through enterprise model services that do not train on your data. We agree what data the system may see, mask personal data where the task allows, and log access. Data used for evaluation is stored under the same rules as production data.

How do you know the AI is accurate enough?

We agree an evaluation set with your team before building: real examples with the answers your experts expect. Every version of the system is scored against it, and reviewers check a sample of the harder cases. You decide the threshold for release. In production, we keep measuring and route uncertain cases to a person rather than guessing.

Which models and vendors do you use?

We work with commercial models such as OpenAI GPT models, Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini, with open models such as Meta Llama and Mistral, and with classic machine learning where it fits better. We choose per task on quality, cost, latency and where the model may run. We design so the model can be changed later. Naming a vendor does not mean a partnership.

Who owns the AI system we build together?

Intellectual property in the work we build for you is yours from the first commit — no assignment step at the end. That includes the code, prompts, evaluation sets and fine-tuned models produced for you, and your data stays yours. Any XSIS tools that existed before stay ours and are licensed to you. Third-party models and services remain under their own licences, which we list for you so you know what each component allows.

What support do you provide after release?

AI systems need ongoing attention: data changes, models are updated and new cases appear. We can monitor quality and cost, review flagged cases, update prompts or models, and rerun the evaluation set before every change. This can be part of a support agreement or handed to your own team with the runbook and training.

Do your engineers use AI coding tools on our code?

Only if you agree. We tell you which tools we would use, how they handle code and data, and whether anything leaves your environment. If you prefer, we work without them. Code written with AI assistance goes through the same review and testing as any other code, and the engineer who submits it is responsible for it.
