In-house and outsourced teams
In-house engineers and outsourced teams, combined in one delivery model
How XSIS combines its own engineers with vetted outsourced teams, and how you stay in control of both.
Overview
XSIS is a full-service software engineering company with in-house and outsourced teams. Our own engineers lead every engagement. They own the architecture, the quality and the delivery, and they are accountable to you for the result.
When the work needs more people or a skill we do not hold in-house, we add engineers from outsourced teams we have vetted. They work under our contract, our engineering standards, our security rules and our code reviews, exactly as our own engineers do.
You always know who is on your team, who employs them and what each person does. One delivery lead answers for all of them, so you deal with one company and one standard, however the team is made up.
What we deliver
Team map
Every person on the engagement, their role, and whether they are an XSIS engineer or from an outsourced team.
In-house leadership
A named XSIS delivery lead and technical lead who own the plan, the architecture and the quality of the work.
Vetted outsourced teams
Outsourced teams assessed by our senior engineers for skills, practices and security before they work on any client project.
One set of contract terms
Confidentiality, ownership and security obligations that bind everyone on the team, passed down in writing to each outsourced team.
Shared engineering standards
The same coding standards, branching rules, testing requirements and definition of done for every engineer.
Controlled access
Named accounts with least-privilege access to your systems for each person, reviewed regularly and removed when they leave.
Code and design reviews
Changes from outsourced engineers are reviewed by XSIS engineers before they are merged, against the same checklist as our own.
One report
Progress, risks and quality reported once, for the whole team, by the delivery lead who answers for it.
How we work
- 01
Plan the team
We work out the roles and skills the work needs and which of them our in-house engineers will fill.
- 02
Put in-house leads in place
We name the XSIS delivery lead and technical lead before anyone else joins.
- 03
Extend with vetted teams
Where more capacity or a specialist skill is needed, we add engineers from vetted outsourced teams, and you approve each person.
- 04
Align on one standard
Everyone signs the same terms, gets the same onboarding and works to the same standards and review rules.
- 05
Deliver as one team
The team plans and delivers together, with one backlog, one set of ceremonies and one line of reporting to you.
- 06
Review the mix
We review the team’s make-up with you as the work changes, and adjust the balance of in-house and outsourced roles.

Ways to work with us
In-house and outsourced teams
XSIS engineers lead and own the work; vetted outsourced teams add capacity and skills under the same standards.
How it works
XSIS engineers lead every engagement: a delivery lead and a technical lead who own the plan, the architecture and the quality.
When the work needs more people or a specialist skill, we add engineers from outsourced teams we have vetted, and you approve each person.
Everyone works under one contract, one set of standards and one review process, and reports through the same delivery lead.
When to choose it
You want one company accountable for a mixed team.
The work needs more skills or capacity than one in-house team, without a lower standard.
You want to see exactly who is on the team and who employs them.
How it is governed
A team map names every person, their role and their employer.
XSIS engineers review changes from outsourced engineers before they are merged.
Confidentiality and security terms are passed down in writing to every outsourced team.
Questions and answers
What does “in-house and outsourced teams” mean at XSIS?
It means our own engineers lead every engagement and carry the responsibility for it, and we add engineers from vetted outsourced teams when the work needs more people or a skill we do not hold in-house. The outsourced engineers work under our contract and our standards, inside a team that our people lead.
Link to this questionWill we know who is an XSIS engineer and who is outsourced?
Yes. The team map lists every person, their role and who employs them. You interview every engineer before they join; no blind placements. We do not add or swap people without telling you first.
Link to this questionWho is accountable if an outsourced engineer makes a mistake?
XSIS is. Your contract is with us, and our delivery lead answers for the work of the whole team, whoever employs each engineer. That is why our engineers review outsourced engineers’ changes before they are merged, and why one set of standards applies to everyone.
Link to this questionHow do you keep quality the same across in-house and outsourced engineers?
Everyone works to the same coding standards, testing rules and definition of done, and uses the same pipelines and checks. XSIS engineers review changes before they are merged. Quality problems are raised in the same way for everyone, and the delivery lead acts on them.
Link to this questionHow do you control security when outsourced engineers are involved?
Each outsourced engineer is bound by the same confidentiality and security terms as our own staff, passed down in writing. Access to your systems is given per person, limited to what the role needs, reviewed regularly and removed when they leave. If you need some work done only by XSIS engineers, or only from certain locations, we plan the team that way.
Link to this questionCan we ask for an in-house-only team?
Yes. Tell us before we propose the team. Some clients need certain work, such as access to production data, to be done only by XSIS engineers. We plan the roles around that and tell you plainly if it changes what we can deliver or when.
Link to this questionDoes the mix of in-house and outsourced engineers change the cost?
It can. Cost depends on the roles, seniority and skills the work needs, and on who can provide them. You see the price and the timeline before we start. Any change to the mix is agreed with you first.
Link to this questionTell us what you need to build or connect.
Describe the systems, the timeline and the constraints. The right engineers take it from there.
